Some say working from home is never easy. There are thousands of "work from home" business opportunities out there that all promise to make you rich overnight or within a week.

Though it is possible to start making an income online, you will not be rich overnight or possibly ever. It takes time and a lot of work on a full time daily basis. Most online business opportunites fail to mention this fact in their program sales pitches which is why most people do not really understand why working form home can be so challenging.

Outlined here are the five biggest challenges to working from home. These challenges will not stop you from working at home but can cause problems and ruin any chance for making it in the work from home environment.

Challenge #1 - Time

There is lots of freedom when working from home and that means being able to manage your time efficiently is very important. It can be easy to let your time slip away and not do anything for your home business. A friend comes to visit or the kids want to go to the park or whatever the senario is and you say to yourself, " i'll do it later."

To keep time from being a block to your work from home opportunity. You should come up with a schedule and be sure to schedule both work and free time and then stick to it. Make sure your friends and family knows that your income depends on you following a schedule and you can't be disturbed in the hours you chose to do your work. This can be very challenging at times when you work from home.

Challenge #2 - Boundaries

Many times your loved ones won't take your work seriously. This can lead to a problem with the boundaries you set for your business. It will be hard at first to tell someone ‘I am working’ and actually get them to understand when they see you typing away at your computer.

Some people don't beleive in this type of income and will constantly be trying to "help you" when all they are really doing is getting in the way. This is your life and it is very possible to earn an income from home. People are doing it everyday. So stand your ground and let them know even though you are greatful for their concern they need to respect you and your work.

To avoid these problems,.. set up a work area in your home and make sure your friends and family know and understand that when you are in your work area you are not to be disturbed

Challenge #3 - Isolation

Working from home tends to isolate you from the outside world. You need to have interaction with others. One of the benefits of working outside the home is meeting new people. When a person works from home it can be easy to get too involved in your work and forget about the outside world. The outside world is important, though.

Networking is a big part of working from home success yet it can get very easy to forget the reason for working at home in the first place. To have the freedom to be with your friends and family more often right? So again I say make a schedule to do your work but, make enough time for your loved ones also. If you get lost in your work and don't spend time with your family it could have the reverse effect that you are not looking for.

Challenge #4 - Not staying up to date

This kind of goes with independence. Not being up to date means not staying informed. To work from home you have to stay focused and educated on the changes and new techniques in your niche. Join online groups and other communities that will give you information you should know.

Challenge #5 - Lack of support

As mentioned before, sometimes your loved ones will not be supportive. It is a regular accurrance for them to not believe a person is really working from home . Most will think you are just being lasy or you don't want to work.

The way to combat this is to show what you are doing and the income you are generating by doing this. Proving your income can be difficult if you are just starting out.

Like I said before it takes time and a lot of work hours with no monetary results in the beginning. Never quit your "real world" job until you at least replace the income your job is currently giving you. Then you can take the path you chose from there.

These five challenges may be a problem for some person who work from home. They are challenges that are very real but, they can be overcome and you can live the dream you always wanted.

Keep in mind though, challenges will just make a person a stronger worker and teach them important techniques and skills they need to be happy in the work at home environment.
